Learners make the decisions
AI supports learning, but learners should be able to change their goals, priorities and learning plan at any time: they know circumstances that are not yet reflected in their learning history.
We are designing Plasmida.ai so that learners’ feedback on recommendations shapes what it suggests next. In Plasma [Learn], decisions about learning, and responsibility for it, stay with teachers and programme authors.
We explain recommendations
We design recommendations so that every suggestion, whether to review a topic or to consider a career direction, has a basis the learner can see: their goal, practice results, the requirements of a role or other clearly stated context.
If data is limited or a conclusion rests on an assumption, the recommendation should say so plainly and be revisited when goals or circumstances change.
We collect data for a clear purpose
Our rule is to collect only the data needed for a specific learning task and to explain why it is needed, who can see it and how long it is kept.
We build in ways to view, correct and delete one’s data. Each product’s documentation states what is already available; the privacy policy sets out the rights of this website’s visitors.
We show what our conclusions rest on
In research content, we cite sources and state the limitations of the method, sample and conditions, keeping observations, interpretations and suggestions for application apart. Our editorial policy has the details.
We correct significant mistakes and explain what has changed.
We support different ways of learning
We design our products for people with different vision, hearing, mobility and perception needs, building in a choice of format and pace and support for assistive technologies. The Accessibility page explains how this works on the website.
Skills assessment and careers
We design skills assessment to take context into account and allow revision: learners should be able to update information about themselves, add work samples and challenge an assessment they believe is wrong.
Career recommendations show options and the reasons behind them. They do not guarantee employment or define what a person is capable of.
AI limitations and feedback
AI can make mistakes in explanations, sources and assessments. Important conclusions should therefore be checked, and learning materials should point to the original source or a teacher.
If you notice a mistake, an unclear recommendation or a problem with how data is handled, write to us with the page or product and a description of what happened. Please do not include passwords, learners’ data or other sensitive information.
